A Grave Situation

Attention all shoppers
It's Cancellation Day
Yes the Big Adios
Is just a few hours away ...'

('The Last Mall' Steely Dan-2003, from the album 'Everything Must Go')

 -   Wait!!!

Come back!

                Hey!!
                                        No!!!   Stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                            AGH!
oh well..-

- like so many of the dogs I have had for companions..

these are often the words uttered right before they do...

 the old kneeling
                   head down
                          slide and boogey
onto a cold pile of wild animal poo.

and.. well...

                         ?Why?  for goodness sakes.

you know,
it's the same mind set they had as you try to coax

that unknown chewey thing out of their mouth

they picked up next to the poo.

and of course...they want to swallow it before you get to them.

-some times I realize I may be part dog-

finding myself heading for that same old poo
then shaking my head and saying ...

                                    ?Why? for goodness sakes.

19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.

-it's early... the sun is comin'..

as I run...I Go to the 'reality yard'

                                                           and ask my Master.

I reached the summit and pray, looking over the valley as it begins gain color in the morning light ..

.. It takes these shadows around me...
and reveals them for the stone markers they are.

as I turn to continue my run on the path..

   I noticed a fresh grave ,

                                   vibrant flowers all about it.

some had fallen over...maybe the wind...

and as I righted some of the vases,
my foot stepped onto the fresh soil.

                                         - I removed it, but my imprint was left behind-

I thought... 'yes, in this journey...

that step is always..  very... close'.

one foot, in the freshly turned soil.

I prayed for the family 'Grasso' that was etched in the stone....

     for those I loved..

for those who did not meet my expectations..

and for a renewed mind and heart...where it is not about me.

12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them.

                                                                      -Jesus washed Judas feet-

                                                                            Truth.

 and as I run..

I am released... from my disappointments of this world...

    I see ....
                          He truly is the Way..

when I stop getting so focused on something gross to roll in.
